Career Expo
At the career expo I learned a lot about jobs I am highly interested in. I got to talk to a muralist who gave me advice on donating to places first (I was planning on donating hand-drawn activity books to Stanford Children's and he gave me advice on how to go about it as well as information on a workshop he's doing). I also learned about structuring a portfolio by painting on friends' walls or your own and then taking photos (something I want to do for fun but didn't realize could be useful to get jobs).
I also talked a marine biologist who told me to continue volunteering at the Seymour Center and that I didn't even need to have college experience if I had research experience and talked about research trips I could go on as soon as I'm eighteen.
A woman talking about teaching said I should do whatever I'm interested in during school until I get my bachelor's and then I can take education classes.
I talked to the Conservation Corps and the park rangers who gave me information about volunteering opportunities.
